For more than four years, Crystal Corporation has been designing and producing custom crystal service recognition trophies for Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan.
The recurring project recognises employees reaching significant milestones in their careers with the university — 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service. While the approved trophy design remains consistent, every award is individually personalised with the recipient’s name and respective years of service.
The project began with the development of an original trophy specifically for Aga Khan University.
Crystal Corporation created the design from scratch, developing the form and overall presentation before the client approved the final concept. That approved design has since become the foundation for the university’s recurring service recognition awards.
Maintaining the same design across the years gives the awards a consistent identity, while individual personalisation makes each trophy specific to the person receiving it.
Each trophy is produced from scratch at Crystal Corporation.
Production begins with creating and shaping the trophy structure. The team then completes the required fabrication and finishing processes. Once the physical trophy is ready, they engrave the recipient’s name and years of service onto each piece. Once the physical trophy is complete, the recipient-specific information is added through engraving.
This final stage transforms each piece from a consistent corporate award into an individually personalised recognition trophy.
Depending on each order’s requirements, Crystal Corporation produces approximately 800 to 2,000 trophies.
At this scale, the project requires two things to work together: consistency and individualisation.
While the design remains consistent throughout the production run, every trophy carries the correct recipient name and service milestone. As a result, each piece remains part of the same recognition programme while representing an individual employee’s years of service.
