What Can Be 3D Printed? Or What Can A 3D Printer Cannot Print?

What Can Be 3D Printed? Or What Can A 3D Printer Cannot Print?

Good question.

Before it gets complicated like a relationship, the answer to such general question in 3D printing models or prototypes may be a never ending list, in categories, according to dimensions, usage or anything you can imagine to serve its purpose.

1. Industries (manufacturing, medical, automotive & etc.)
2. Dimensions (millimeter to meters)
3. Usage (industrial, business, home, office & etc.)

These are just few ways to streamline your search according to interest in the field of 3D Printing.

As 3D Printing tech is increasingly becoming ubiquitous in any industry (if not all), there is definitely no reason to under estimate its capabilities.

We live up to the high-expectation of our valued clients in implementing and executing demanding intricate bespoke 3D printing jobs given under time constraints in Model Making and Personalized Trophies/Awards combined.

Crystal Corp.’s constant growth in expanding its coverage by introducing new products and innovative services in 3D Printing will not disappoint you in any way.

1. 3D Modelling

2. 3D Printing

3. 3D Scanning

4. Prototyping

5. Full Scale Production

6. Post Processing and Finishing

What are the basic details you need to provide when going for 3D Printing?

1. 3D file (i.e. .obj or .stl or others)

2. No 3D file? Not a problem. You may provide the item or object for us to 3D scan it for you that you will have the 3D file thereafter.

3. No item or object? Not a problem still. You may provide the drawing with the dimensions, for us to develop it into a 3D file.

This is just the basic. What comes next could be

4. The type of finish you require as far as detailing is concerned. I.e. FDM or SLA. FDM may not provide high detail compared to SLA that delivers even the minute details you wish to make visible.

5. Its purpose. If you require it for heavy duty task or just as an accessory or display. This will then identify if filament, nylon or other material can withstand the stress or not applicable at all.

6. Other properties. Such as malleability or flexibility, i.e. for medical purpose in dental or surgery related needs. This stage may impose a complex requirement compared to just a spare part or certain object.

Takeaway

The answer to the question, “What can be 3D printed?” We do not have the answer for now.

But, why?

There is no easy way to predict the future when it comes to technology. Who can put a limit to human minds the way things are evolving in our day and age today?

Famous people like late Steve Jobs of Apple once made a bold statement, “Who would use a big mobile phone?” Let alone buy one. Samsung might have pioneered it. Until Iphone not only makes big phones now, but also include a Pencil for their Ipads; when on the sideline Steve mocks it (stylus/S pen) during his glory days while bringing to the world the full screen — no physical keypad on a mobile or cellular phone.

Thus, our final take, “It remains to be seen.”
